Hastings came out firing in their match against Somerville, defeating the Eagles by 31 goals.

The Blues set up their win in the first quarter, keeping Somerville’s shooters to a low four goals while scoring 15 of their own. Somerville improved greatly in the second quarter, scoring 14 goals, however, Hastings also continued to score goal after goal, keeping them out in front at halftime. The defensive pressure from the Blues in the third quarter, kept Somerville quiet once again to only four goals while they continued to find the net time and time again.  The fourth quarter went in a similar fashion as Hastings stayed in control of the match, while Somerville were able to score a couple more goals than the last quarter, it was too late for them to reel the margin back in.

Crib Point remain at the top of the ladder alongside Hastings after defeating Langwarrin by 15 goals. The Magpies swooped early in the first quarter, however, the Kangaroos kept up with them, only losing it by two goals. Crib Point’s second quarter allowed them to build a large buffer between themselves and Langwarrin. The Magpies worked hard applying defensive pressure to hold the Kangaroos to only four goals while they doubled their own score. Langwarrin did a wealth of work in the third term to keep up with Crib Point, with both teams scoring 13 goals for the quarter. The last quarter was hotly contested again with Crib Point winning it by two goals. Despite the loss, the final margin doesn’t reflect how close the Kangaroos were to Crib Point for most of the match.

A strong Karingal unit kept Pearcedale to only 17 goals for the match in their 43-goal win against the Pink Panthers.

A dominant start from Seaford saw them defeat Rye by 45 goals. The Tigers pounced on their opponents early turning over almost every opportunity that went the way of the Demons. Keeping Rye to only a single goal in the first quarter, Seaford scored 19 of their own to establish a strong lead. The Demons had a better quarter in the second scoring nine goals, however, they were unable to halt the large haul being put up by Seaford shooter Sinead Lumsden who went on to score 43 goals for the match alongside her shooting partner Nichelle Liepa who also pulled in an impressive number. Sitting 25 goals behind at halftime, Rye were unable to turn the tables on Seaford. The Tigers continued to dominate the match winning all four quarters convincingly.

Tyabb remain in the race for finals after defeating Red Hill by eight goals in their weekend clash. The Yabbies set the pace early taking a six-goal lead into the first break. The Yabbies controlled the match in the second quarter as well, however, in the third they were less in command. Red Hill came back with a vengeance after the halftime break, winning the third quarter by a goal. They then continued to lift in the final quarter, going goal for goal with the Yabbies until the final whistle. Tyabb’s strong start kept them ahead of their opposition, despite Red Hills’ winning the second half.

Chelsea were 21-goal winners in their match against Devon Meadows. A fairly low scoring first quarter, saw the Seagulls establish a five-goal lead. Chelsea won the second quarter by keeping the Panthers to only four goals as they also did in the first. After halftime, Chelsea really took control of the match scoring 12 goals to Devon Meadow’s six. Then in the final quarter, the Seagulls continued to apply pressure and convert goals while the Panthers struggled, once again only scoring four goals against Chelsea.
