A battle between two sharks saw Sorrento come out on top with a 37-goal win against Bonbeach on the weekend.  Sorrento took the lead early to be six goals up at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, Sorrento continued to build on their lead, pushing it out to an 18-goal difference. In the third term, Sorrento’s defensive pressure halted Bonbeach from scoring, keeping them to only three goals for the term. Bonbeach improved in the final quarter, however, being 30 goals down already they were unable to really challenged Sorrento.

A strong four-quarter effort saw Dromana walk away 17-goal winners against Pines. The Pythons did well in the first quarter to only be six-goals behind the Tigers at the first break. Dromana were able to score from more opportunities in the second resulting in their lead being extended to nine goals. Nine goals in a half of netball can be turned around, however, the Tigers prevented the Pythons from striking again in the third quarter, as the margin blew out to 14 goals. Although losing the match by 17, the Pines did well to stay consistent in attack across the four quarters, scoring 11 goals in each despite Dromana extending their lead, they were unable to completely derail Pines.

Mornington remain at the top of the ladder after defeating Frankston by 26 goals.

The Bulldogs took charge of the match early, scoring a massive 18 goals to five in the first quarter. Mornington also won the second term, however, it was much more even with the Bombers only scoring three less in that quarter. Having doubled Frankston’s score, Mornington were in the clear in the third quarter as they continued to build on their lead to create a 19-goal buffer heading into the final term. The Bulldogs were strong again in the fourth quarter, keeping Frankston from scoring more than six goals as they took the win.

An impressive second quarter backed up by an onslaught of goals in the third and fourth, allowed Rosebud to break-away from Mt Eliza in their 34-goal win. The Redlegs were breathing down Rosebud’s necks in the first quarter, only behind by two at the first break. However, the Buds were quick to take the match up a notch in the second scoring 17 goals to eight. Strong defensive pressure in the third term, kept Mt Eliza to scoring only four goals, while the Buds continued on their way with a commanding 21-goal quarter. The Redlegs had their best quarter in the last scoring nine goals, however, the damage had already been done as Rosebud continued to slot goal after goal to win the match.

Frankston YCW got close to Edi-Asp, however, fell short by eight goals in their clash on the weekend.
